This is a piece custom made for the October 2008 cover of Natural History Magazine to accompany the article "I, Cleopatra" by Joyce Tyldesley (Basic Books). It is recreated from the best know likeness of the Helenistic Queen, carved in Oolitic limestone in the style of Egyptian hieroglyph panels at the Temple of Dendur, Egypt.
