Simple steel tools
The tools Ongky uses are light weight sharpened steel strips. These are perfect for the softer stones and worked well even with the more robust sandstones he has recently been carving. The wooden mallet is made from coconut wood, the small “lump†hammer is used with more western type chisels for roughing out the work.
