Reconstruction of the Calf of Man Crucifixion carved for Peel Cathedral, Peel, Isle of Man
Ongky was commissioned to reconstruct the whole piece as it may have looked originally using the available information. As the original 8th-9th century carving is missing a significant piece, Ongky had to draft designs that included the angels thought to have sat on top of the cross. Carved area measures 16" x 12" and is carved in Manx slate as the original.
