Netcells Users are contactable through Messages logged directly into the database via our standard Contact form.
The User's email is not shown on the form, unless he/she so chooses. The data are transmitted via secure ssl connection.
If a mistake is made the form returns the data (except the Mobile number), the Email address is checked for correct syntax (but not whether it's a live or dead one).
The Contact messages are now sent as ordinary email, unless the SecureMessage option is chosen, which means you do not have to log in to NUZ to read messages.
All messages are logged in your User Zone, where you can keep them indefinitely.
A copy is forwarded to the Sender, either as the entire message, or, if Secure, just the date and the Subject line.
The sender's email shows as a return address in the message, so you can reply with one click from your local mail program (that will, of course, reveal your email address).
You can also reply from NUZ>Comms>Messages and still keep your email secret (we must note here that a few providers - AOL is one example - try to block email sent by a server software - those are factors beyond our control - you need to contact them or use your local machine email program in such cases).
The SecureMessage option is available to Users level 3 and above and it will appear on their Contact form as a tick box.
When that box is checked only a Subject line is sent to the User, he/she must log in to the NUZ to retrieve the message, in Comms>S-Messages.
In contrast to ordianary email the SecureMessages really are secure, as long as you take good care of your password. They do not travel by email but stay inside the database, you can keep or delete them, as you please.
Note that you will not know about your messages unless the Email stored in your NUZ is valid. If you want to keep your email address confidential (you should, to limit spam), leave Email field blank and put your email into Email2 field in NUZ > Account > Profile
This system is good to use in parallel with your ordinary email for messages from casual visitors.
As the messages are stored safely on the server and are likely to survive many of your computer changes, S-Messages are useful whenever a record might later be needed.
S-Message function can be added to any site, via a simple link.
NUZ (Netcells User Zone) is accessible via secure connection on: ›netcells.net/nuz/.
